Laurent Ferrier 'Montre Ecole Regulateur' Launch
20th Jun 2017
Laurent Ferrier chose London for the official worldwide launch of the new Galet Micro Rotor Regulateur. In partnership with William & Son, the watch was revealed to the public at a private event at Mark’s Club Mayfair, on the 2nd of June 2017.
William Asprey and Laurent Ferrier welcomed guests on the terrace of the club where attendees were able to enjoy drinks and canapes whilst discovering the brand’s latest timepiece of the Montre Ecole range : The Galet Regulateur.
The ‘Montre Ecole’ – the ‘School Watch’, launched at the beginning of the year, was inspired by the very first watch created by Mr. Ferrier when he was training as a watchmaker in 1968. Traditionally, every student at Watchmaking School has to design and build his own timepiece to complete the formation.
For the first time in the Montre Ecole collection, Laurent Ferrier introduces a Regulateur display on a base of a Galet Micro-Rotor movement.
Traditionally in watch workshops, a clock would be located at the centre of the room with the large minute hand taking up visual importance. This type of clock, called central “regulator”, would have been used to guide the watchmaker when making, servicing or regulating timepieces.
Laurent Ferrier”s new watch, minimalist yet complete, possesses the qualities that makes it a ‘watchmaker’s watch’, it speaks to horologists who have been there, learning the basics – one they would love to wear themselves.
The Montre Ecole Galet Micro-Rotor Regulateur will be available exclusively at William & Son from August.
