William & Son Summer Showcase
25th Jul 2019
William & Son are proud to present their ‘Summer Showcase’ exhibition celebrating three talented up and coming silversmiths. Available for one month only, each artist will exclusively exhibit their work in the impressive William & Son Flagship store, where guests can browse a selection of handpicked items on display selected by William & Son’s in house silversmith.
Silversmiths of the ‘Summer Showcase’ include work from:
Jen Ricketts – Award winning silversmith Jen Ricketts gained a First Class Honours Degree from De Montfort University and went on to complete a yearlong silversmithing residency at Bishopsland. Jen received awards from The Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council London and from the Craft & Design Magazine. In 2015, she completed a prestigious commission for the Lord Mayor of Sheffield which was subsequently presented to the Queen on her visit to Sheffield and was displayed throughout the summer of 2017 at Buckingham Palace as part of the “Royal Gifts” exhibition.

William & Son are honoured to have this special piece on display and are delighted they can be part of Jen’s journey.
James Dougall – Following a successful career in Fine Art and Antiques, James succeeded in fulfilling a long held ambition to become a silversmith. His approach to designing contemporary silverware is based on an exploration of shape and form, combined with function in an attempt to find new ways of addressing how the medium is perceived in a rapidly changing world. James has won numerous awards and has exhibited internationally at Goldsmiths Hall and at the Victoria and Albert museum. William & Son are excitedly exhibiting James’ hand engraved parcel gilt, oxidized silver feather dishes and forged, hand engraved silver feather spoons with a unique carved Maplewood shadow spoon.

Rebecca Joselyn – Rebecca started her business in 2006 based in Yorkshire Art Space. Since starting her career, Rebecca has worked on a number of awards and commissions, including a large oil container which was on show in the museum of modern art in Kuwait and the packaging for the world’s most expensive coffee which can be purchased in Harrods.
William & Son are delighted to work with Rebecca again after a relationship was formed in 2011 and has continued ever since. Rebecca presents her ‘From the Shed’ collection at William & Son’s ‘Summer Showcase’ which is a natural progression of Rebecca’s everyday objects and packaging themes. Rebecca has studied objects stored away in old sheds and has started with a capsule collection of items, which have caught her eye.
