BIVER AUTOMATIQUE QUARTZITE WITH SAPPHIRES

The lustrous surface of Blue Quartzite is something only mother nature could create. At once, it resembles both an icy lake in midwinter and lacy clouds against a bright summer sky, the light blue and white ground punctuated by darker blue veins. The addition of 13 baguette-cut blue sapphires for the hour markers add even more depth to the dial echoing the stone’s colors and playfully reflecting its textures and tones.

Formed deep in the earth under intense pressure, Blue Quartzite has a crystalline structure that gives it an incredible visual depth and a glassy surface that allows the blue hues to truly shine. It can display a wide range of colours, but we have chosen stones with a fine grain and texture and flashes of vivid blue that pair perfectly with the platinum cases to give these Automatique pieces an energetic, contemporary personality.

Calibre JCB-003 is a brand new movement designed from the ground up specifically for the Automatique, with micro-rotor and hand winding, a zero-reset mechanism, and new styles of decoration. It was engineered to be able to drive additional complications in the future and was developed in partnership with Dubois Depraz.

Combining hard stones and gemstones might be unorthodox, but when done with finesse and restraint it can produce startling effects. The 13 baguette-cut blue sapphire hour markers are set across the white gold chemin de fer, adding another dimension to the Automatique dial. They emphasize the glossy blue tones of the Blue Quartzite and give the watch an extra hit of subtle sparkle.
